Building trust through security: Bodyguard secures SOC 2 Type 1 certification

Great news! We've achieved our SOC 2 Type I certification!

At Bodyguard, building a safe and reliable solution is something we take seriously every day. Today, we’re happy to share a positive step forward in that journey: Bodyguard is now SOC 2 Type I certified!

What is SOC 2 Type I?

SOC 2 is a well-known security standard for companies that handle customer data. It checks whether a company protects information properly and follows clear, trusted rules.

To be SOC 2-compliant, a company needs to show that it effectively manages:

security
system availability
confidentiality of data
accuracy of operations
privacy

In short, SOC 2 helps prove that a company can be trusted with data.

It’s an important signal for customers and partners, showing that we are handling information responsibly and transparently.

Bodyguard's SOC 2 certification was audited and accredited by Sensiba.

What SOC 2 Type I means for Bodyguard

SOC 2 Type I looks at our security controls at a specific moment.

It checks whether:

our security rules are clear and well organized,
our processes to protect data are in place,
we control who can access what,
our systems and tools are set up responsibly.

This certification, completed with Vanta’s support, is an external confirmation that we have solid foundations when it comes to protecting data and managing it safely.

It also reflects the work we've been doing to strengthen our internal practices and bring more structure to our operations.

Next step: SOC 2 Type II

The next part of the process is SOC 2 Type II.

This audit verifies that our controls don’t just exist, but that they work properly over time, day after day.

That’s our focus for next year. We’ve already started preparing, and we’ll keep improving our processes throughout 2025 to reach this next level of maturity.
